Y-ECCO/ClinCom call for Y-ECCO Small Research Survey Proposals

The call for research proposals returns with opportunities for Y-ECCO Members to propose and perform a brief, focused research project with ClinCom/Y-ECCO guidance and ECCO support.

Based on the successes of the surveys jointly conducted by the Young ECCO Committee (Y-ECCO) and the Clinical Research Committee of ECCO (ClinCom) at the ECCO Congresses in the past, we are asking Y-ECCO Members to propose a new survey study.

The best proposal (as assessed by members of the Y-ECCO Committee) will then be reviewed by ClinCom for improvement. The final version will eventually be approved by the ECCO Governing Board. The winning survey will then be performed online at the ECCO Congress 2022: the winner will receive the full support of ECCO in disseminating the survey during the ECCO Congress via the ECCO IBD App.

This is a fantastic opportunity for Y-ECCO investigators to access the resource of the ECCO Office and the entire ECCO Membership.

Applications need to be well thought through and structured and should address a current and pertinent question in IBD. The research question does NOT need to be huge or over-ambitious – we would welcome simple but interesting proposals that are deliverable within one year.

A paid Y-ECCO Membership is not required to submit a proposal. Proposals submitted by submitters with active Y-ECCO Membership will however be prioritised. All submitters should meet the criteria required to be a Y-ECCO Member: To be a medical doctor under the age of 35 or still in training.

Please submit proposals structured as:

- Short introduction to the background, aim(s), methodology and other matters (including any relevant financial details): no longer than 1 A4 page

- Draft of the survey: no longer than 2 A4 pages

The deadline for applications is September 8, 2021.

Please send all proposals to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

No covering letter is required. Just do it!
