Words of welcome
Dear ECCO IBD Community,
Dear Friends,
I am very happy to welcome you all to Stockholm again for ECCO’26, the 21st Congress of ECCO! This year we have much to offer our delegates and you can look forward to a full programme of science, education, an exciting exhibition and more. It looks to be another great year for ECCO with 6023 registered delegates so far.
In our third year of the REACH Strategy, ECCO concentrates on the letter ‘H’ for Holistic IBD Care. Our ECCO’26 Congress Scientific Programme highlights a holistic approach for the whole patient journey: from patient-centered care, Quality of Life, to strategies for multidisciplinary monitoring and follow-up.
With 1775 abstracts submitted and 1351 accepted posters, ECCO is the destination for the latest scientific developments and emerging practices.
So, make the most of your registration and catch the Scientific Programme and popular DOP sessions both in person and livestreamed via our Congress Platform, available through the ECCO website and app. The recordings will remain available on demand for you for three months.
Furthermore, I invite you to join the prestigious ECCO Lecture on the Gut-brain axis in IBD, Saturday morning 12:20-12:50, in the main plenary hall, given this year by Professor of Neurogastroenterology, Dr. Qasim Aziz, as part of our overall holistic theme.
In addition, the Educational Programme these selected courses will be recorded and made available on the e-library after the Congress: 12th Y-ECCO Science Workshop, 11th D-ECCO Workshop, 15th S-ECCO IBD Masterclass and 13th P-ECCO Educational Course.
If you are not a regular user of the e-library then come to the hands-on e-Learning stations where ECCO guides will show you how to navigate this amazing tool, recently updated with a user-friendly search engine and multiple language sub-titles.
Alongside the official programme, I encourage you to join other activities, such as the Join the Reviewers Coffee break, Friday 10:35-11:00 in the Members’ Lounge , to explore this years’ REACH pop-up exhibition on “Holistic IBD Care” together with our Corporate Members and, of course, for our ECCO Members, do not miss the Annual General Assembly on Thursday from 20:15-21:15, with important announcements of new developments for the association and planned ECCO’27 changes.
Last but not least, I hope to see many of you at the “ECCO Interaction: Hearts and Minds” dinner and networking event on Friday, February 20, at the Stockholm City Hall, from 20:00.
Be inspired, be informed, learn how to integrate the holistic approach in your own professional practice, for long-lasting patient impact. Together we achieve more.
Yours sincerely,
