What has changed since your society became an ECCO Country Member?
Ukrainian physicians are now better informed and up-to-date on IBD news. The Ukrainian Gastroenterological Association approved, updated and modified its recommendations to reflect Ukrainian realities, based on ECCO Guidelines.
What are the benefits to you of being an ECCO Country Member?
Young physicians have the opportunity to obtain further training during the ECCO Congresses.

Yes, we are making use of the ECCO Guidelines.
Have you developed links with other countries through your ECCO Country Membership?
Yes, we have.
Have you developed research projects with other countries through your ECCO Country Membership?
We have developed a research project with Kazakhstan.
Have you developed educational activities with other countries through your ECCO Country Membership?
For the same research project with Kazakhstan, we had a fellow student sponsored by ECCO.
What are your main areas of research interest?
Mucosal barrier and microbiome in IBD.

Yes, the Stoll bio bank.
What are your most prestigious/interesting past and ongoing projects?
Faecal microbiota transplantation in IBD – ongoing:

Which ECCO Projects/Activities is the group currently involved in?
Mostly with the ECCO Educational Initiatives.
What are your aims for the future?
We are aiming to continue the research into the intestinal mucosal barrier and microbiome changes in IBD patients. We shall also continue our work on a national IBD patient registry and develop an educational programme on IBD with doctors and young scientists.
How do you see ECCO helping you to fulfil these aims?
By having ECCO Speakers attending conferences in Ukraine and having Ukrainian doctors and scientists taking part at ECCO Congresses.
What do you use ECCO for? Network? Congress? How do you use the things/services that ECCO has to offer?
We use ECCO Guidelines and clinical recommendations as well as providing our trainees with further training through attendance at the IBD Intensive Course for Trainees at the ECCO Congress.
