Frequently Asked Questions

Here we answer all frequently asked questions about the following topics concerning ECCO’27.

Congress registration

Individuals

How do I get my username & password?

First, you must create an ECCO account on the ECCO Portal.

Once your account is created, you will receive an automatic email with your username. If you do not receive your login details immediately, please check your spam folder before contacting the ECCO Office at ecco@ecco-ibd.eu. With these login details you can then apply for your ECCO Membership and register for the ECCO Congress.

Note: If you have registered last year for the ECCO Congress, you can use the same login details to register for the upcoming ECCO Congress. If you have forgotten your password, please use the “Don’t remember your password?” function on the ECCO Portal.

How do I become an ECCO Member? How much does it cost?

How do I change my password?

You can change your password in your ECCO Account, after signing in via the ECCO Portal. Click “Change my password”.

How do I update my ECCO Profile/Privacy settings/Conflict of Interest (COI)?

You can update your ECCO Account after logging in to the ECCO Portal. Click "Update my profile".

Where do I view the programme?

The programme for ECCO’27 Copenhagen Congress can be found here.

How can I pay for my registration?

Payments can be made online via credit card (Mastercard, Visa and AMEX) or by bank transfer. Online payments by credit card are only accepted up to a limit of EUR 5,000.- Payments exceeding that amount must be performed by bank transfer. Please include the invoice number and/or registration number as a reference.

Please be aware that a registration is considered valid only once your payment has been received on the ECCO Bank account and you have received a confirmation email from the ECCO Office. Therefore, please keep in mind that bank transfers could take up to 7 days from some countries.

We do not accept cheques.

How do I get a confirmation of my registration?

Following the submission of your registration, you will receive an automatic e-mail with your registration details. A separate confirmation email will be sent to you after we have received your payment.

How can I access my registration record?

Following the submission of your registration, your registration record can be accessed by simply logging in here with your username and password.

Can I register for the main congress (scientific programme) and at a later stage register for an educational activity or the ECCO Interaction: Hearts and Minds?

Yes, this is certainly possible. To add further items to your registration, please log in to the ECCO Portal with your username and password and then click on “Congress Registration”. Any additions made after your registration is invoiced and will appear on a new invoice that will be e-mailed to you.

In order to register for educational activities, you need to have a valid ECCO Membership for 2027.

Please note that the educational activities are only available onsite in Copenhagen and will not be live streamed online.

Do I need to register separately to attend the satellite symposia offered at the ECCO Congress?

No, access to the satellite symposia is included in your congress registration, no separate registration is needed. As the number of seats is limited, some satellite symposia organisers may require advance registration (free of charge) – details would be announced in due course by each organiser.

How can I pay for an ECCO Interaction ticket or educational activity myself when I was registered for the congress by a company?

Please sign in to the ECCO Portal, under “Congress Registration” select “Register myself” then choose “Educational activity only” or in the extras the ECCO Interaction. In order to register for educational activities, you need to have a valid ECCO Membership for 2027.

In case of difficulties please feel free to contact the ECCO Office at ecco27@ecco-ibd.eu and provide the following details:

  • Name
  • Invoice address (incl. VAT Number if applicable)
  • Educational activity you would like to sign up for

 The ECCO Office will then set up your registration manually and you will be able to pay for the course(s)/ticket(s) by credit card or bank transfer.

What is the deadline to register for the educational activities?

The registration deadline for educational activities is February 10, 2027 (midnight CET). Registration for these courses will be on a first come, first served basis.

I only want to visit the industry and poster exhibition. Do I need to register for the scientific programme?

No, exhibitors/staff and delegates only visiting the industry and poster exhibition can register online by logging in to the ECCO Portal, clicking on “Congress Registration” and selecting “Exhibition access only” fee (EUR 215.-)

I'm registered but unable to attend. Can I get a refund of the registration fee?

A cancelled registration can be taken over by another participant (name change) free of charge until February 10, 2027. In case you do not want to transfer your registration to another participant, the following fees apply:

  • Cancellation until November 25, 2026: A refund of 50% of your registration fee is granted.
  • Cancellation after November 25, 2026: No refund can be granted.

There is of course the possibility to watch the scientific programme via live stream and on demand if you cannot attend the congress in person.

Can I register before the early fee deadline and pay later?

In order to benefit from the early registration fee, your payment must be received by November 25, 2026, otherwise the standard registration fee will automatically become effective.

I need an invitation letter for my visa application. How do I obtain one?

Before obtaining an invitation letter, all registration fees must be fully paid. Individuals can request their invitation letter by logging in with their username and password here, click on “Congress Registration”, “View/Add extras/Pay”, “Manage/Pay” and then “Request VISA Letter”.

Group leaders can also request invitation letter/s on behalf of their group's participants by proceeding the same way. More information on visa letters can be found here.

How can I activate my e-Voucher code?

If you received an e-Voucher code, you need to activate it in your ECCO Portal account under “ECCO´27 Congress Registration”.

How can I receive my congress badge?

All delegates will receive a QR code shortly before the congress to print out congress badge in the entrance hall during the opening hours. Please note that in order to pick up your pre-paid badge onsite at the registration desk, the QR code or passport/ID must be shown.

How and when will I receive my CME certificate?

We kindly ask you to log in to the ECCO Portal and fill out the online evaluation form. You will be able to download your individual CME certificate immediately upon completion of the survey. For delegates attending the scientific programme on the congress platform, please make sure to watch all the sessions to receive the full CME credits.

How and when will I receive my certificate of attendance?

After the congress, you will be able to download your certificate of attendance online via the ECCO Portal within your account.

What to do if I lose or forget my congress badge?

Reprint fee of EUR 75.- will apply.

Groups

How can I register my group for the ECCO’27 Congress?

You can find a detailed group registration procedure here.

Why is there a group handling fee of 4%?

The handling fee of 4% will be charged on the invoice to cover the overheads related to group administration (enquiries, updates, membership status checks, name changes, payment process…)

When and how do I submit the names and contact details of the group participants?

You need to provide the e-Voucher codes to your delegates and invite them to activate their e-Voucher in their ECCO Portal by clicking on “Congress registration” and “Activate e-Voucher”. Your delegates details will appear automatically on your final registration list. You will be able to download your registration overview in an excel document.

Can I replace one delegate with another?

A cancelled registration can be allocated to another delegate at the same registration fee free of charge until February 10, 2027 (name change). Use the button: “Remove & Replace e-Voucher” in your group registration. Afterwards the e-Voucher code can be sent to another delegate.

Can I pay by bank transfer / credit card?

Amounts exceeding EUR 5,000.- must be paid by bank transfer while smaller amounts can be settled by credit card (Mastercard, Visa and AMEX). Please include the invoice number and/or registration number on your payment.

How can I check if my group participants have already renewed their ECCO Membership for 2027?

Please contact the ECCO Office at ecco27@ecco-ibd.eu and provide us with the delegate names and email address. We will check the ECCO Membership status of your delegates.

How can I add exhibitor(s) to my group and access early the industry exhibition hall?

Within your group registration you can select two types of fees for the industry delegates, “Exhibition access only” and “Industry congress fee & early exhibition access”.

Exhibition access only: Early access to exhibition on Wednesday, Thursday from 7:30 am, Friday and Saturday from 8:30 am.

Industry congress fee & early exhibition access: Access to scientific programme and early access to exhibition on Wednesday, Thursday from 7:30 am, Friday and Saturday from 8:30 am.

How can I add an educational activity to my delegate?

Educational activities on behalf of your delegates can be added to your group registration by clicking on "Add extras" under the respective delegate. This is only possible once they have activated their e-Voucher and became an ECCO Member 2027.

Programme Overview

Can I pick up the congress badges for my group?

No group badge pick-up available. Prior the congress all the delegates will be emailed a QR code in order to scan and print their own badge onsite.

Can I pick up the congress bags for my group?

Limited amount of congress bags will be available for delegates to collect individually.

Memberships

I am an ECCO Member but the member fee does not show / appear during the registration process.

ECCO Membership 2027 is required to benefit from the reduced member rates for the ECCO’27 Congress. You can check the status of your ECCO Membership by logging in to the ECCO Portal and clicking on "Membership". If you have not yet renewed your membership for the year 2027, you can do so online.

Can I become an ECCO Member and at the same time register for the ECCO’27 Congress?

If you would like to register at a member fee to the ECCO'27 Congress, you need to settle your ECCO Membership payment first before registering for the congress (you can log in and renew your membership here). If you pay your membership fee for 2027 by credit card online you can register straight away as an ECCO Member for the congress. If you pay by bank transfer, please allow up to 5 working days before registering as an ECCO Member. Once you receive the membership confirmation email from the ECCO Office, you can register for the ECCO Congress at the reduced member rate. Please note that ECCO does not give any refunds, so please make sure that you pay your membership fee first, receive the membership confirmation email and only then, register for the ECCO Congress.

The company I work for is a Corporate Member of ECCO – can I benefit from the reduced congress registration fees for ECCO Members?

No, only individual members of ECCO may benefit from the reduced registration fees for the congress.

Accomodation

Where can I find more information about available hotels and rates?

Where is the congress taking place?

The ECCO’27 Congress takes place at the Bella Center Copenhagen, Center Boulevard 5, DK-2300 Copenhagen, Denmark.

How can I get to the congress centre by public transportation?

Underground line M1 runs between Vanløse and Vestamager. The metro station "Bella Center" is located by Bella Center's East entrance but please proceed to the main entrance to access to the ECCO’27 Congress. Further info on “How to get to Bella Center”.

Does the registration fee include a transport pass?

No, public transportation is not included in the registration fee. You can find further information on public transportation in Copenhagen here.

Do you organise a bus from the Bella Center to the Øksnehallen, where the “ECCO Interaction: Hearts and Minds” takes place?

No, as the Øksnehallen is well connected by public transportation, we do not organise a bus for delegates who attend the “ECCO Interaction: Hearts and Minds”.

You can use the Metro from Bella Center to The Central Station (Hovedbanegården). Around 50-100 meters walk.
