Here we answer all frequently asked questions about the following topics concerning the presentations.

Oral Presentations & Digital Oral Presentations
Can I present my abstract virtually?

No, all accepted presentations need to be done in-person at the ECCO Congress.

Could you send us a copy of the PPT template?

Is it mandatory to use the ECCO template for the presentation onsite?

It is not mandatory to use the ECCO Template, however, we encourage all presenters to use the ECCO Template for their presentations. The ECCO template can be found here: ECCO26_MASTER_Congress_template.pptx

I submitted three abstracts but I am not the presenting author. Do I have to be registered for the conference?

In case your abstracts get accepted, the presenting author needs to be registered for the ECCO Congress in order to present the abstracts. If you are unable to attend the congress it will be fine as long as the presenting author will attend and present the abstracts.

Does the author(s) need to be present?

As stated in the abstract guidelines, the presenting author needs to be present during the ECCO Congress in order to present the abstract: “Submission of an abstract constitutes a formal commitment by the author to present the abstract in the session and at the time decided upon by the ECCO Organising Committee. Any change in the presenting author needs to be communicated in the form of a written statement to the ECCO Office well in advance.

Will the data be published?

When selected for presentation, the copyright of the abstract is released to ECCO and permission is given for the abstract to be published in the JCC Abstract Book, as well as on the ECCO Website and possibly an ECCO mobile application.

Do the 6 slides for the DOP presentation include title slide, disclosures slide and acknowledgements?

The title as well as the disclosure slides are compulsory. If you manage to keep the short timeframe for presentation, you can have 6 slides plus the title and disclosure slide. Please note, if you run over the allocated presentation times, the chairs have the right to end your presentation. Therefore, we usually encourage a 1 minute per slide as a reference.

Regarding ‘webcasts’, does the authors request this or is it upon invitation by the organisers?

Oral presentations in the scientific programme will be video recorded and will be available on the ECCO e-Learning platform together with all other sessions of the scientific programme.

I noticed that a hard copy poster will not be mounted for oral presentations. Does this mean that a poster is not required, or does this mean that a hard poster is not permitted?

Please note that oral presentations and digital oral presentations will not be displayed as hard copy posters. The poster exhibition solely includes abstracts which have been accepted as hard copy poster only.

Are there any restrictions on industry presenters?

Industry representatives are not allowed to present any abstract types (i.e. Oral Presentation, Digital oral presentations or posters). Medical/research investigators working for your clients are accepted as presenters.
