Q: How do I get my username & password?

A: First, you must create an account on the ECCO Portal.

Once your account is created, you will receive an automatic email with your username and password. If you do not receive your login details immediately, please check your spam folder before contacting the ECCO Office at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. With these login details you can then register for the ECCO’21 Virtual Congress and also apply for your ECCO Membership.

Note: If you registered last year for the ECCO Congress, you can use the same login details to register for the ECCO’21 Virtual Congress. If you have forgotten your password, please use the forgot password function on the ECCO Portal.

If you received an e-Voucher code you need to activate it in your ECCO Portal account under registration. You need to activate it to gain access and log-in to the ECCO’21 Virtual Congress site.

Q: How can I pay for my registration?

A: Payments can be made online via credit card (only Mastercard and Visa are accepted) or by bank transfer. Online payments by credit card are only accepted up to a limit of EUR 5,000. Payments exceeding that amount must be made via by bank transfer. Please include the invoice number and/or registration number as a reference on the bank transfer.

Please be aware that a registration is considered valid only once your payment is received on the ECCO Bank account and once you have receive a confirmation email from the ECCO Office. Please keep in mind that bank transfers can take up to 10 days depending on the country. 

We do not accept cheques. 

Q: How do I get a confirmation of my registration?

A: Following the submission of your registration, you will receive an automatic e-mail with your registration details. A separate confirmation email will be sent to you after we have received your payment.

Q: How can I access my registration record?

A: Following the submission of your registration, your registration record can be accessed by simply logging in here with your username and password. 

Q: Can I register for the main congress (scientific programme) and at a later stage register for an educational course?

A: Yes, this is certainly possible. To add further items to your registration, please log in to the ECCO Portal with your username and password and then click on “Congress Registration “. Any additions made after your registration is invoiced will appear on a new invoice that will be e-mailed to you. 

Q: Do I need to register separately to attend the satellite symposia offered at the ECCO Congress?

A: No, access to the satellite symposia is included in your congress registration, no separate registration is needed. Please note that delegates signed up for the Scientific Programme only, cannot attend symposia during the Educational course days.

Q: How can I pay for an Educational Course myself when I was registered for the main congress fee by a company?

A: Please sign into the ECCO Portal and under Registration choose Educational Courses only or contact the ECCO Office at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and provide the following details

  • Name
  • Invoice address (incl. VAT Number if applicable)
  • Educational course you would like to sign up for

The ECCO Office will then set up your registration manually and you will be able to pay for the cours(es) by credit card or bank transfer.

Q: I only want to visit the industry and poster exhibition. Do I need to register for the main congress programme?

A: No, Exhibitors/Staff and delegates only visiting the industry and poster exhibition can register online by logging in to the ECCO Portal, clicking on “Congress Registration” and selecting “Exhibitor” fee.

Q: I am registered but unable to attend. Can I get a refund of the registration fee?

A: A cancelled registration can be taken over by another participant (name change) free of charge until June 9, 2021. In case you do not want to transfer your registration to another participant, the following fees apply:

  • Cancellation until May 12, 2021: A refund of 50% of your registration fee is granted.
  • Cancellation after May 12, 2021: No refund can be granted.

Q: Can I register before the early fee deadline and pay later?

A: In order to benefit from the early registration fee, your payment must be received by May 12, 2021, otherwise the late registration fee will automatically become effective.

Q: How can I log into the Virtual Congress Platform?

A: Log in to the Congress website with your ECCO Portal login details. You can login via the ECCO IBD App, on your mobile phone, or any other device connected to the internet.

Q: Can I test my log in details prior to the Congress?

A: Yes, the platform will open June 28, 2021. Log in on the Congress website with your ECCO Portal log in details. Please sign up to receive our newsletter to receive all updates regarding the congress.

Q: When can I access the Virtual Exhibition?

A: The Virtual Exhibition Halls opens on June 28, 2021 and will stay open until October 31, 2021. Please find all virtual congress bag items in our Media Library.

Q: How and when will I receive my CME certificate?

 A: An application will be made to the UEMS EACCME® for CME accreditation of this event.

Q: How and when will I receive my certificate of attendance?

A: After the congress, your certificate of attendance will be available on your ECCO Portal account under your ECCO'21 Virtual registration. Participants watching the on-demand content, can download their Certificates of attendance as soon as they watched on-demand sessions in full length after the live congress, by clicking on all sessions.

Q: Which agency do I need to contact regarding AIFA submissions?

A: According to Italian legislation, any Marketing Authorisation Holder or pharmaceutical company responsible for the commercialisation of a drug, which organises or helps to organise, whether by direct or indirect funding in Italy or abroad, a congress, or a meeting on topics in any way related to the use of medicine, shall notify the responsible Unit of the Italian Medicines Agency (AIFA) at least 60 days before the date of the event to ensure that these adhere to strict technical criteria and intend to provide further knowledge in the fields of chemistry, pharmaceutical technology, biochemistry, physiology pathology and clinical medicine.

Q: How can I register a group for the ECCO'21 Congress?

A: To register a group for the congress, the group leader needs to have an account in the ECCO Portal. If you registered a group for the ECCO’20 Congress, you can use the same login details for the ECCO’21 Virtual Congress registration as well.

If you do not have an account yet, please click here to create a new account. Once you set up your account you will receive your login details via e-mail.

With your username and password you can log in to the ECCO Portal and register your group for the ECCO’21 Virtual Congress under the registration button.

There is no minimum number of participants for group registrations. If you make a congress registration on behalf of someone else, please click on “REGISTER GROUP Buy e-voucher for 1 or multiple delegate.”

Early registration deadline - May 5, 2021

Late registration deadline – June 16, 2021

If you wish to organise a group registration, you have the option to buy e-Vouchers for: members, non-members or exhibitors. 

You can find a detailed group registration procedure here.

Please be reminded that in order to benefit from member registration fees, the ECCO 2021 Membership fee of the delegate must be fully paid and confirmed BEFORE proceeding with the congress registration! Please allow approximately 5 business days between the membership fee payment and the date of the congress registration. We strongly advise to pay the membership fee well in advance to avoid any issues with registration deadlines.

Q: Can I replace one delegate with another?

A: Name changes are possible free of charge until June 9, 2021, using the “remove and replace” button under the respective delegate you would like to change. After cancelling one delegate the same e-Voucher code needs to be sent to the new delegate within the same fee (ECCO Member fees can only be transferred to another ECCO Member). After June 9, 2021 an existing registration cannot be taken over by another participant and a new registration needs to be purchased.

Q: Can I pay by bank transfer/credit card?

A: Amounts exceeding EUR 5,000.- must be paid by bank transfer while amounts lower than that can be settled via credit card (Mastercard and Visa only). For bank transfers, please make sure to include the invoice number or registration number of your registration as reference. 

Q: How can I check if the delegates in my group registration have already renewed their ECCO Membership for 2021?

A: Please contact the ECCO Office at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and provide us the delegate names. We will then check the ECCO Membership status of your delegates and let you know. 

Q: How can I add exhibitor tickets to my group?

A: Please register them online by logging in to the ECCO Portal, clicking on “REGISTER GROUP Buy e-voucher for 1 or multiple delegate” then “Exhibitor Registration.”

Q: How can I add tickets for Educational Courses to my group?

A: There are a number of Educational Courses available at ECCO’21 Virtual Congress that your delegates might be interested in. A detailed overview of all offered courses can be found here.

Access to the Educational Courses is for ECCO Members 2021 only (with the following exception: Advanced ECCO: EduCational COurse for Industry).

Only once the ECCO Memberships are confirmed by the ECCO Office (please allow up to 5 business days), delegates can register for Educational Courses. If you as a group coordinator would like to add an Educational Course for your delegates, please do so with the button “Add Educational Course” under the respective delegate. You can only add an Educational Course if your delegate is a member and has activated their e-voucher. Only when the registration is fully paid the delegate will have access to the Educational Course.

The number of participants for each Educational Course is limited. Registration will be on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Please register your delegates in advance until June 16, 2021.

Q: How can I register my delegates for the Advanced ECCO: EduCational COurse for Industry?

A: To add tickets for the Advanced ECCO: EduCational COurse for Industry to your group, please contact the ECCO Office at This email address is being protected from spambots. Q: What is the fee for exhibitor access?

A: Please note that exhibitor/staff access can be booked at EUR 120.- per person.

Q: Is it possible to only register for an Educational Course without registering for the main congress programme?

A: Yes, it is possible. During the registration process please select “Educational Activity Only” instead of the congress fee and in the next step you will be able to select the specific Educational Courses that you would like to attend. Please note that only ECCO Members can register for and attend Educational Courses. Feel free to apply for membership here.

Q: Is attendance at the Educational Courses included in the congress registration fee?

A: No, a separate registration is needed to attend an Educational Course and separate registration fees apply. An overview of the Educational Programme and applicable fees can be found here.

Q: I am not an ECCO Member. Can I still register for Educational Courses?

Access to the Educational Activities is only available for ECCO Members (paid-up membership fee for the year 2021). You can settle your ECCO Membership here. Once your ECCO Membership is confirmed by the ECCO Office (please allow up to 5 business days), you can register for Educational Courses.

Q: What is the registration deadline for Educational Courses?

A: The registration deadline for Educational Courses is June 16, 2021 (midnight CEST). Registration for these courses will be on a first come, first serve basis.

Compliance information

Please note that in accordance with the Code of Practice of EFPIA (European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations) and Pharmig (Verband der Pharmazeutischen Industrie Österreichs), prescription-only products may not be advertised to the general public. Only prescribers may be exposed to advertising for prescription-only products. As a multidisciplinary audience attend the ECCO Congress, ECCO will distinct different access to prescribers and non-prescribers.

The exhibitors will be able to restrict the access to their booth or different content on their booth according to the compliance status of the delegates.

Satellite symposia organisers also have the chance to restrict their programme based on the compliance status of the delegates.

We therefore kindly ask you to please indicate if you are a prescriber (have a license to prescribe medicine in your country), non-prescriber or employee of a pharmaceutical company. Thank you very much for your cooperation.

Q: I am an ECCO Member but the member fee does not appear during the registration process.

A: ECCO Membership 2021 is required to benefit from the reduced member rates for the ECCO’21 Virtual Congress. You can check the status of your ECCO Membership by logging in to the ECCO Portal and clicking on "Membership/Profile". If you have not yet renewed your membership for the year 2021, you can do so online

Q: Can I become an ECCO Member and at the same time register for the ECCO’21 Congress?

A: If you would like to regiser at a Member fee to the ECCO'21 Virtual Congress, you need to settle your Membership payment first before registering for the Congress (you can log in and renew your membership here). You need to allow up to 5 business days for your membership application to be processed. Once you receive the membership confirmation email from the ECCO Office, you can register for the ECCO Congress at the reduced member rate. Please note that ECCO does not give any refunds, so please make sure that you pay your membership fee first, receive the membership confirmation email, and only then, register for the ECCO Congress.

Q: The company I work for is a Corporate Member of ECCO – can I profit from the reduced congress registration fees for ECCO Members?

A: Unfortunately not – only individual members of ECCO may profit from the reduced registration fees for the congress.

Q: Which time zone is the congress broadcasting?

A: CEST – Central European Summer Time.

Q: What internet browser do you recommend using?

A: Any recent one: Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge, etc.

Q: Is it possible to view the sessions on a mobile device?

A: Although not the ideal solution, viewing on a mobile device is possible. Please make sure to switch the webrowser on your mobile device to the desktop viewing mode, which will improve your viewing experience.

Q: Will there be live Q&A with the speakers?

A: Yes, via Zoom.

Q: Will there be a networking function?

A: Yes.

Q: Will attendees have to enable cookies and cross site tracking in browser?

A: The necessary cookies are always enabled. Everything else can be individually disabled via the cookie banner by the visitors.

Q: Are delegates able to open multiple tabs and easily click between congress sessions and external exhibitor pages (or will they be logged out of sessions if they click onto another tab?)

A: By default, visitors will stay within one tab – the virtual congress platform, nevertheless multiple tabs are possible.

Q: Is your internal system recording when a delegate has logged into the virtual congress using their unique login details?

A: Yes, it is recording who logs in. This is necessary in order to generate Certificates of Attendance, but no detailed information will be shared. Only Certificates of Attendance are shared with group coordinators.

Q: What are the support hours for the virtual platform?
