FAQs: CME Accreditation

Q: How and when will I receive my CME certificate?

A: To receive a certificate with CME credits, the congress evaluation form has to be completed and filled in online in order to be able to download the certificate. The link to the congress evaluation form will be sent to each congress delegate via email, and will be available online at the end of the congress.

If you miss a session or want to attend multiple overlapping Educational Courses, you can do so on-demand until October 31, 2021, provided that you have an active congress registration: please kindly note that you have to be registered for every educational course, which you would like to attend live/watch on the on-demand platform.

Only after filling out evaluation form(s), will you receive the CME Credits for the courses you attended. CME credits can only be claimed until September 30, 2021.

Q: How do I update my ECCO Account / Profile?

A: You can update your ECCO Account after logging in to the ECCO Portal. Click ‘update profile’.

Q: Where do I view the programme?

A: The programme for ECCO’21 Virtual Congress can be found here.

Q: Which time zone is the congress broadcasting?

A: CEST – Central European Summer Time

Q: How do I register for an Educational Course?

A: You need to have a valid ECCO Membership for 2021 to register for Educational Courses by logging in to the ECCO Portal. Click Congress Registration, then select your existing congress registration or select ‘register myself’ if your congress registration is being managed by a group coordinator. The 5th Advanced ECCO: EduCational COurse for Industry does not require the ECCO Membership 2021.

Q: When and where will the congress content be available?

A: The abstracts and presentation titles are online on the ECCO’21 Virtual Congress and on the ECCO Website.

The registered delegates will have access to the on-demand videos shortly after each live session. The videos will be on-demand until October 31, 2021 on the Virtual Congress Platform and later on the e-Library.

Q: When can I access the Virtual Exhibition?

A: Virtual Exhibition opens on June 28, 2021 and will be open 24 hours until October 31, 2021, company representatives will be available during the official congress dates (July 2-3 & July 8-10, 2021).

Q: Is there a virtual press room at the ECCO’21 Virtual Congress?

A: No.

Q: Do I need to register separately to attend the satellite symposia offered at the ECCO’21 Virtual Congress?

A: No, access to the Satellite symposia is included in your congress registration, no separate registration is needed. Please note that delegates signed up for the Scientific Programme only, cannot attend symposia during the Educational course days.

Q: I only want to visit the industry and e-Poster exhibition. Do I need to register for the main congress programme?

A: No, Exhibitors/Staff and delegates only visiting the industry exhibition and e-Poster exhibition can register online by logging in to the ECCO Portal, clicking on “Congress Registration” and then selecting “Exhibitor” fee.

Q: How do I become a Member? How much does it cost?

A: Please find all information about ECCO Membership here.

Q: How do I change my password?

A: You can change your password in your ECCO Account, after signing in via the ECCO Portal. Click change password.

Q: Can I get a refund for the Scientific Programme or an Educational Course?

A: If you cancelled before May 12, 2021 a refund of 50% can be granted. For more information, please see our Terms and Conditions.

Q: How do I get my Certificate of Attendance?

A: We will send the certificates right after the congress and at the end of October to those who watched the congress on-demand. You can also find your Certificate of Attendance in pdf. form in your personal ECCO Account.

A: Yes! Until August 2, 2021 you can apply for the ECCO Fellowships, Grants, and Awards.

Currently, the Y-ECCO/ClinCom Survey “Identifying Clinical Practices And Clinician Attitudes Towards Treating Mild Crohn’s Disease” is open. We would be grateful for your input.

The ECCO Committee elections are currently open for your applications. The application deadline is September 13, 2021.

This year, the ECCO Educational Workshops will take place as virtual events. Please check the ECCO Website for more relevant information.

Q: How can I get access to JCC?

All ECCO Regular Members as well as Y-ECCO Members have a free subscription to online JCC – Journal of Crohn’s and Colitis (12 online issues/year).

Q: Where can I find the full ECCO’21 Congress Programme?

A: The overview of the full ECCO’21 Congress Programme can be found under Programme on the Virtual Congress Platform. The ECCO Educational Programme will take place on July 2-3, 2021 prior to the ECCO Scientific Programme, which will take place on July 8-10, 2021.

Q: How can I watch/find a session or talk that I have missed from the Educational and Scientific Programmes?

A: The ECCO Educational and Scientific Programmes (incl. DOPs) will be available on the on-demand platform.

The ECCO’21 on-demand platform will be available for all ECCO delegates until October 31, 2021. Every Session will be available on the on-demand platform 15 min after the original live session has ended.

Please kindly note that you have to be registered for every educational course, which would like to attend live/watch on the on-demand platform.

In addition, the webcasts will be available in the e-Library for ECCO Members after the Congress (CME credits cannot be claimed via the e-Library).

Q: Where can I get the ECCO’21 Abstracts?

A: The ECCO’21 Abstract book is accessible as a PDF in the Media Library. The ECCO’21 Abstracts are also available on the ECCO Website and on the JCC Website.

Q: Is attendance at the Educational Courses included in the congress registration fee?

A: No, a separate registration is needed to attend an Educational Course and separate registration fees apply. An overview of the Educational Programme and applicable fees can be found here.

Q: Can I vote in the upcoming GA Elections?

A: All congress delegates with paid ECCO Membership (2021) will be able to attend the General Assembly at the ECCO’21 Virtual Congress Platform (July 8, 2021 – 19:00-20:00 CEST) and vote for the new ECCO Secretary.

ECCO Membership 2021 is required to be paid by 15:00 CEST on July 8, 2021 the latest.

Q: Can I first register for the main Congress (scientific programme) and register at a later stage for any Educational Courses?

A: Yes, this is possible if you register for the course before July 10, 2021. To add further items to your registration, please log in to the ECCO Portal with your username and password and then click on “Congress Registration“. Any additions made after your initial registration that have already been invoiced will appear on a new invoice sent per e-mail.

Q: What internet browser do you recommend using?

A: The preferred browser is Chrome, but the platform is compatible with most browsers, with the exception of Windows Edge (formerly Internet Explorer). Please make sure that you have installed the latest version of your browser.

Q: How can I have the best viewing experience of the Virtual Congress Platform?

A: Please set the zoom setting for text and apps to 100% in the display settings of your computer and the browser zoom settings to 100% as well. 

Q: Is it possible to view the sessions on a mobile device?

A: Although not the ideal solution, viewing on a mobile device is possible. Please make sure to switch the webrowser on your mobile device to the desktop viewing mode, which will improve your viewing experience.

Q: Will there be live Q&A with the speakers?

A: Yes, you will be able to ask questions via the sli.do panel on the left side of the presentation. Questions will be answered during the Q&A time following each presentation.

Q: Will there be a networking function?

A: Yes.

Q: Will attendees have to enable cookies and cross site tracking in browser?

A: The necessary cookies are always enabled.

Q: Are delegates able to open multiple tabs and easily click between congress sessions and external exhibitor pages (or will they be logged out of sessions if they click onto another tab?)

A: By default, visitors will stay within one tab – the virtual congress platform, nevertheless multiple tabs are possible.

Q: Is your internal system recording when a delegate has logged into the virtual congress using their unique login details?

A: Yes, it is recording who logs in. This is necessary in order to receive Certificates of Attendance, but no detailed information will be shared. Only Certificates of Attendance are shared with group coordinators.

Q: On what day will the platform be opened for exhibitors? Is there a buffer allowance for booth viewing and making final changes?

A: The Virtual Congress Platform opens for all delegates on June 28, 2021. Access to the backend will be granted earlier and will be kept open throughout the Congress Days, so that you still can adapt and change if necessary.

Q: To whom is the exhibition opened?

A: To all registered delegates and registered industry representatives.

Q: Is ECCO offering virtual meeting rooms for ECCO´21 Virtual?

A: No

Q: When will on demand content become available?

A: Shortly after the session has been broadcasted.

Q: Until what date will the content be available on demand?

A: Until end of October 2021.

Q: Can we download all content?

A: Content available for download can be found in the Media Library: JCC Issue 6, Abstract Book, Pocket Guide. All other on-demand content is not downloadable.

Q: Will there be a Virtual congress bag?

A: There will be no virtual congress bag. Instead we have a Media Library where the June issue of JCC, the Abstract Book and other items will be downloadable.

Q: The company I work for is a corporate member of ECCO – Can i profit from the reduced congress registration fees for ECCO members?

A: Unfortunately not – only individual members of ECCO may profit from the reduced registration fees for the congress.

Q: What are the dates for the congress in Vienna?

A: ECCO’22 will be held from February 16-19, 2022

Q: Will the congress in Vienna be virtual again?

Please note that in accordance with the Code of Practice of EFPIA (European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations) and Pharmig (Verband der Pharmazeutischen Industrie Österreichs), prescription-only products may not be advertised to the general public. Only prescribers may be exposed to advertising for prescription-only products. As a multidisciplinary audience attend the ECCO Congress, ECCO will distinct different access to prescribers and non-prescribers.

The exhibitors will be able to restrict the access to their booth or different content on their booth according to the compliance status of the delegates.

Satellite symposia organisers also have the chance to restrict their programme based on the compliance status of the delegates.
