ECCO Fellowships, Grants and Travel Awards are available to encourage young physicians in their career and to promote innovative scientific research in IBD in Europe.

ECCO Pioneer Award


Deadline
: May 2, 2024
Purpose: Promote visionary, innovative, and inter-disciplinary research projects in the field of IBD
Target audience: Basic and/or clinical scientists
Place of research: In own institute (single centre) or as a collaboration (multicentre)
ECCO Membership: Required
Prize: EUR 300,000
Number of awards available: 1
Duration of funding: 2 years

ECCO Global Grant 


Deadline
: May 2, 2024
Purpose: Supports partnerships in ECCO Member counties and non-ECCO Member countries in low- or lower-middle income countries
Target audience: Basic and/or clinical scientists
Place of research: Multicentre with at least one center in an ECCO Member country and at least one center from a low or lower-middle income country
ECCO Membership: Required for the ECCO Member countries
Prize: EUR 300,000
Number of awards available: 1
Duration of funding: 2 years

Deadline: October 31, 2024
Purpose: Support clinical excellence in the investigation of utility of intestinal ultrasound used in the assessment of patients with inflammatory bowel disease
Target audience: Candidates should be established within clinical units with expertise in inflammatory bowel disease, with established expertise in performance of intestinal ultrasound with routine access to an ultrasound machine

Purpose: Offering European and Asian investigators exchange visits to IBD Centres in Asia or Europe, respectively
Target audience: Early career basic and/or clinical scientists, who are not yet 40 years old or still in training
Place of research: Hosting institute outside one’s own country
ECCO Membership: ECCO-AOCC Visiting Travel Grant applicants and their hosts need to be ECCO or AOCC Members respectively (at the time of application)
Prize: EUR 10,000

Duration of funding: max. 3 months

Purpose: Enable visits of European IBD Centres, learning of scientific techniques, clinical observership
