Y-ECCO Members’ Address
Y-ECCO Committee Chair
Dear Friends,
It was very nice to see so many familiar faces at the recent UEGW meeting in Berlin, and even better to see so many Y-ECCO Members making important contributions. The days are getting shorter and colder, which can mean only one thing… the ECCO Congress is coming! We are looking forward to welcoming you all in beautiful (and chilly) Stockholm in February, and I really hope that you have submitted your abstracts in order to present your work to the IBD world. We would also love you to attend the 13th Y-ECCO Science Workshop, which will be held on the afternoon of Wednesday 18th February, just prior to the start of the Congress. We have a stellar line-up of established clinicians and scientists, including Marietta Iacucci, Petra Bacher and Debby Laukens , who will provide insights in their keynote lectures. In addition, up-and-coming Y-ECCO Members will present their own research. This is a real highlight of the Congress for me, so please do come, learn and actively participate with us.
The ECCO Literature Reviews, examples of which you will see in this edition of ECCO News, have been a great way to get involved with Y-ECCO—it was the first thing I did as a Y-ECCO Member. We are planning some changes to how these are delivered in the year ahead. This will be a fantastic opportunity, so please keep an eye out for the call in the New Year.
September is a busy time for the Y-ECCO Committee, and at the ECCO autumn meetings we had the chance to appoint two new members to the committee. We look forward to welcoming Judith Wellens and Marieke Barnhoorn, who will take up their seats at ECCO′2026. Making room for this new blood is Gabriele Dragoni, who has been a fantastic committee member and will step down in February, as will I. Which leaves me to say what an absolute pleasure it has been to be Y-ECCO Chair for the last year, and I would like to thank Manuela, Gabriele, Virginia, Nuru and Florian for being such a great group of people to work with. I will hand over the reins to Nuru Noor at the Stockholm Congress, and I am really pleased that Y-ECCO will remain in good hands and in good health for the future.
Best wishes,
Robin
