The 74th ECCO Educational Workshop was held in Katowice, Poland, on April 26, 2025. Organised by ECCO Poland National Representatives Magdalena Gawron-Kiszka and Piotr Eder, the event welcomed ECCO Members eager to explore current challenges in IBD management. The workshop took place in Katowice, one of Poland’s largest and most dynamic cities. Notably, it was the first ECCO Educational Workshop dedicated to the practical use of the ECCO e-Guide.

The programme was divided into two sessions, each of which focused on clinical case presentations highlighting different aspects of IBD care. The morning session covered new presentations of Crohn’s Disease as well as complex phenotypes, including penetrating disease and Crohn’s Disease during pregnancy. The afternoon session featured case studies of Ulcerative Colitis across varying levels of disease activity—from mild to moderate and severe.

All presentations were based on real-life clinical cases and demonstrated the practical application of ECCO e-Guide algorithms in everyday clinical decision-making. Young faculty members from gastroenterology clinics across Poland were invited to actively participate and present cases, fostering a vibrant and collaborative learning environment.

We were honoured by the presence of ECCO Faculty members Konstantinos Karmiris and Nurulamin Noor, as well as leading Polish IBD experts represented by Grażyna Rydzewska. The ECCO Office was represented by Bogomil Yotov.

Approximately 50 participants attended the workshop. Attendees were encouraged to engage actively by voting on treatment and diagnostic decisions using a colour-coded card system. Feedback emphasised the interactive format and high educational value of the event.
