Report on the 75th ECCO Educational Workshop, Tallinn, Estonia

The 75^th ECCO Educational Workshop took place in central Tallinn, Estonia on June 6, 2025. The event was organised by the ECCO Office and National Representatives Hendrik Laja and Vadim Brjalin with support from the president of the Estonian Society of Gastroenterology, Karin Kull. This was the second time that an ECCO Educational Workshop has been held in Estonia, the first one having taken place in 2015.

This was the second workshop in the new format, which focuses on the use of ECCO e-Guide algorithms and is based on local real-life cases and their discussion. All the cases were prepared and presented by young gastroenterologists from Estonia, and the case presentations were followed by interactive discussion with voting rounds. The programme also included two state-of-the art lectures, by Mariangela Allocca and Uri Kopylov, which were very well received.

The programme was divided into two sessions. The first session was dedicated to the management of Crohn’s Disease and included a paediatric part, while the second addressed the management of Ulcerative Colitis and pregnancy in IBD.

The workshop was popular with 68 participants. The majority of the participants were from Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. We hope that everyone enjoyed this event.
