Dear ECCO Members,

I am absolutely thrilled to bring you the newest updates and exciting developments on the e-Learning platform that we have been diligently working on.

As we approach the winter break, I also want to take a moment to wish you all some well-deserved time off to rest, recharge, and enjoy the holiday season with friends and family.

We are constantly striving to enhance your learning journey, and this latest edition is packed with new content and information! All designed to make your experience even more valuable before you settle in for your break. Let’s dive in and discover what is new!


e-Learning Platform: Refresh and Upgrade

The main ECCO website recently received a modern update, and now the e-Learning Platform has followed suit!

We have refreshed the platform to match the new website's style, providing you with a seamless and modern user experience.

We are also upgrading the user experience to all our Congress- and media content available on the platform.

Upcoming features:
• Search within slides, videos, and podcasts
• Congress presentations will have subtitles in 10 different languages
• A new, more user-friendly experience for finding the content you need
• Change playback speed to suit your needs


ECCO IBD Curriculum 2.0

The ECCO IBD Curriculum has undergone a complete overhaul:

Simplified navigation: sub-categories within the IBD Curriculum categories have been removed
Focused learning objectives: content is organised around clear learning objectives for each IBD Curriculum category
Streamlined access: access all the necessary content to achieve the learning objectives with a single click
Content refresh: all outdated content has been removed, and new content is consistently being created to keep the curriculum up-to-date


Advanced Training Programme

A new programme on the advanced applications of Capsule Endoscopy in CD is available on the e-Learning platform.

The programme is designed to enhance your ability to analyse capsule endoscopy videos for the assessment and monitoring of Crohn’s Disease.


e-Courses

Predictive Models on IBD disease course and treatment response

Now that the Topical Review on Predictive Models on IBD disease course and treatment response is published, we have created an e-Course has been created to go alongside it!

One major aim of this e-Course is to increase competence and understanding on the topic of predictive models in IBD, with an emphasis on prediction of disease course and response/non-response to treatment.

Diagnosis and Management of Pouch Disorders

This e-Course focuses on real-world cases, equipping you with the six essential skills demanded by modern clinical practice:

  • Master clinical presentation and differential diagnosis
  • Apply the most appropriate diagnostic strategies
  • Implement cutting-edge treatment pathways
  • Recognise disease phenotypes with long-term implications
  • Deliver multidisciplinary, patient-centered care.
  • Apply ECCO recommendations for pouch surveillance and long-term follow-up

Quality of Care in Europe: Lights and Shadows - Part II

Watch the newest webinar on the Quality of Care in Europe. This webinar discusses the gaps between ECCO quality standards of care and the real world on diagnosis and monitoring in IBD across Europe. Get a deep dive into quality surgery, nutrition and CRC cancer surveillance.

Before I sign off, I want to let you know that this will be the last letter from me, as my time as the e-Learning Editor-in-Chief comes to an end.

I want to extend my gratitude to the entire e-Learning Editorial Team. Working with you has been incredibly rewarding, and I am proud of the great achievements and milestones we accomplished. Thank you, Kostas, Marietta, Susanna, Henit, Pierre, Nuru, Gabriele, Natalia and Uri.

As many of the current editorial team's terms are scheduled to conclude at the ECCO'26 Congress, the transition will officially take place during the ECCO General Assembly.

At that time, the new incoming Editor-in-Chief, Uri Kopylov, will start afresh with the new members joining the editorial team. I wish them all the very best for their term!
