The "Working Party Inflammatory Bowel Disease" of the ÖGGH is the national IBD society of Austria persuing the following objectives:

• Fostering a nation-wide management of patients with IBD on a high quality basis
• Encouragement of a nation-wide cooperation in the field of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD)
• Consensus on management of patients with IBD including diagnosis, treatment and specific situations in an interdisciplinary setting
• Intensification of nation-wide and international scientific projects
• Representation of the "Austrian Working Party Inflammatory Bowel Disease" at international congresses including the ECCO congress
• Advanced training for gastroenterologists, medical practitioners and nurses
