ECCO Pioneer Award

Purpose: Promote visionary, innovative, and inter-disciplinary research projects in the field of IBD
Target audience: Basic and/or clinical scientists
Place of research: In own institute (single centre) or as a collaboration (multicentre)
ECCO Membership: Required
Prize: EUR 300,000
Number of awards available: 1
Duration of funding: 2 years

ECCO Global Grant

Purpose: Supports partnerships in ECCO Member counties and non-ECCO Member countries in low- or lower-middle income countries as defined by the World Bank.
Target audience: Basic and/or clinical scientists
Place of research: Multicentre with at least one center in an ECCO Member country and at least one center from a low or lower-middle income country as defined by the World Bank.
ECCO Membership: Required for the ECCO Member countries
Prize: EUR 300,000
Number of awards available: 1
Duration of funding: 2 years

ECCO-IBUS Intestinal Ultrasound Research Grant

Purpose: Support clinical excellence in the investigation of utility of intestinal ultrasound used in the assessment of patients with inflammatory bowel disease
Target audience: Candidates should be established within clinical units with expertise in inflammatory bowel disease, with established expertise in performance of intestinal ultrasound with routine access to an ultrasound machine
Place of research: In own institute
IBUS Membership: Required

ECCO-AOCC Visiting Travel Grant

Purpose: Offering European and Asian investigators exchange visits to IBD Centres in Asia or Europe, respectively, for advanced endoscopy training or clinical observership as an IBD Specialist
Target audience: Early career scientists, not yet 40 years old or still in training. Open for all disciplines
Place of research: Hosting institute outside one’s own country
ECCO Membership: ECCO-AOCC Visiting Travel Grant applicants and their hosts need to be ECCO or AOCC Members respectively (at the time of application)
Prize: EUR 10,000
Number of awards available: 2
Duration of funding: max. 3 months

ECCO Travel Award

Purpose: Enable visits of European IBD Centres, learning of scientific techniques, clinical observership

ECCO Membership: Required (Both applicant & supervisor at hosting institute)
Prize: EUR 1,500

Prize: EUR 1,500
