Dear Y-ECCO Friends,

As we move into the final quarter of the year, this is the perfect time to reflect on our collective achievements and to set our sights on the exciting events that lie ahead.

At Y-ECCO, we’ve been diligently crafting an innovative programme for our upcoming Y-ECCO Science Workshop, designed to bring together our diverse community of basic scientists, clinicians and clinician-scientists. In the last edition of ECCO News, I offered a sneak peek at our shift from the Basic Science Workshop to a more inclusive Science Workshop. This transformation reflects our commitment to fostering collaboration and engagement among all Y-ECCO Members.

For 2025, we are thrilled to present an exciting programme centered on the theme ‘Remodelling IBD’. We’ll kick off with a fascinating session on ‘Gut in a Dish’, featuring insights from our invited speaker, Joana Neves. This will be followed by a deep dive into ‘Unravelling Bowel Damage’ with expert guidance from Florian Rieder. To cap it off, we’ll explore the complexities of ‘Perianal Crohn’s Disease’, with Nick Powell shedding new light on this challenging area.

We strongly encourage you to submit your abstracts , especially if your work aligns with these critical topics. This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase your research and contribute to the vibrant discussions that make our workshop a must-attend event for the Y-ECCO Community. Don’t miss out—your insights are invaluable!

Looking ahead to 2025, we're excited to announce the return of the Y-ECCO Mentorship Forum, taking place this June in Vienna. After the resounding success of our 2022 and 2023 editions, we’re eagerly anticipating another dynamic and interactive workshop next year. Seats are limited and highly sought after, so be sure to apply today!

This forum is designed to challenge, inspire and empower young doctors to refine their skills and take bold steps toward becoming the professionals they aspire to be. It offers a unique opportunity to engage in meaningful dialogue with peers and interact closely with key opinion leaders (KOLs), paving the way for future scientific collaborations. The forum spans more than one day, featuring intensive sessions where senior experts will provide invaluable guidance and support. Don’t miss this chance to elevate your career—secure your spot now!

Our community thrives on your active participation and the dynamic exchange of ideas. I strongly encourage you to make the most of the opportunities available—attend our events, submit your research for the ECCO Congress or JCC , join the conversation on ECCO Chat on the ECCO IBD App, tune into our ECCO Podcasts, follow us on X (@Y_ECCO_IBD) and connect with fellow members. Your contributions are the driving force behind the continued success and growth of Y-ECCO and the entire IBD Community.

Let’s REACH together!
