IBD Intensive Course for Trainees © ECCO

The 23^rd ECCO IBD Intensive Course for Trainees designed for residents, fellows in gastroenterology and junior faculty will take place in Berlin, Germany, on February 19, 2025, immediately prior to our next Congress. We are pleased to inform you that the preliminary programme for this course is already available.

Fast facts in IBD is a new web-based virtual learning opportunity brought to you by EduCom as an additional way to participate in ECCO Education. It is designed to complement the in-person ECCO Postgraduate Course in IBD, which takes place bi-annually at the ECCO Congress.

The 5^th ECCO Basic Imaging Workshop was successfully conducted on site during the 19^th ECCO Congress in Stockholm in February 2024, as a part of ECCO’s educational programme. The workshop saw two sessions on the same day due to the high demand for participation. A heartfelt thank you goes out to the speakers and tutors for their dedicated efforts in covering both sessions. Gastroenterologists with expertise in intestinal ultrasound from ECCO and IBUS, along with radiologists from the European Society of Gastrointestinal and Abdominal Radiology (ESGAR), collaborated to provide attendees with a comprehensive immersion into imaging in IBD.

The 22^nd ECCO IBD Intensive Course for Trainees took place on February 21, 2024, in the vibrant city of Stockholm. Despite the cold and moody weather outside, the course itself was a lively and buzzing experience, filled with enthusiastic discussions and valuable insights.

The 73rd ECCO Educational Workshop was held in Bucharest, Romania, on September 23, 2023. The workshop focused in the first session on specific clinical scenarios, including the management of acute severe ulcerative colitis, complicated Crohn's disease, and postoperative monitoring, and then addressed challenging and hot topics in the second session, such as treatment escalation and de-escalation and drug-associated side effects.  The interest of the topics covered stimulated several interactive discussions, providing a platform for networking and exchange of innovative ideas.

The 72nd ECCO Educational Workshop occurred in Cartagena, Colombia, on September 14th, 2023, uniting participants from Colombia, Ecuador and Peru. The workshop featured interactive discussions on different clinical scenarios emphasizing the multidisciplinary approach and state-of-the-art lectures on hot topics in IBD.

The 71^st ECCO Educational Workshop took place at The Westin Zagreb, Croatia, on June 16, 2023. This event brought together participants from Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, Hungary, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Italy. The workshop focused on the field of paediatric IBD and featured interactive discussions on various clinical scenarios and hot topics in paediatric IBD.
