The 6th N-ECCO Research Forum was attended by 52 nurses active and/or interested in research. The Research Forum is arranged every second year and this year was opened by Wladzia Czuber-Dochan (United Kingdom), who also presented the winners of the N-ECCO Research Grant 2020: Simona Fourie (UK) and Katarina Pihl Lesnovska (Sweden).
The first session comprised presentations from previous N-ECCO Research Grant winners from 2018 (Maria de Jong, the Netherlands) and 2019 (Dawn Farrell, Ireland) and from this year’s winners. The second session aimed to provide nurses new to research with some guidance on how to get started (“The journey of a novel researcher”, Kay Greveson, UK), how to develop research questions (Wladzia Czuber-Dochan, United Kingdom) and how to choose the best methodology for a project (Dawn Farrell, Ireland and Susanna Jäghult, Sweden). Lastly, there were three workshops. Two concentrated on questions from nurses without research experience, while the third aimed to give more senior nurses the possibility to network and identify potential collaborations.
The 6th N-ECCO Research Forum was closed by Wladzia Czuber-Dochan, who advised all participants to consider applying for the N-ECCO Research Grant, the deadline for which is July 31, 2020. The next N-ECCO Research Forum will be held in 2022.
