Dear IBD colleagues and friends,

Warm greetings from the ECCO News Team!

Are you enjoying the Christmas holiday season, with its magic and heart-touching atmosphere, plenty of family love and centuries-old traditions?

Well, enjoy it all but please also start thinking about our equally sensational 20th Congress of ECCO, which will take place in the progressive and inclusive city of Berlin, from February 19 - 22, 2025.

This year, the ECCO Scientific Programme will be structured around the main topic “Sustainability in IBD and beyond”, because our goal should be to achieve sustainability in the delivery of all aspects of IBD care, including sustainable services through innovative assessment and monitoring, sustainable medical and surgical treatments and, finally, sustainable research and education.

The Programme will offer attendees cutting-edge basic science sessions, translational medicine sessions and clinical sessions as well as a unique opportunity to listen to and learn from world-leading specialists in each scientific area of IBD, who will provide science-based practical take-home messages.Held from February 20 - 22, 2025, the Scientific Programme will include all scientific sessions and oral presentations of the best abstracts of the Congress, as well as guided poster tours. As in every year, the Congress registration fee includes access to all scientific sessions.

Here are some of the highlights of the Scientific Programme:

Scientific Session 1: Sustainability in IBD care

Scientific Session 2: Novelties in IBD care

Scientific Session 3: Sustaining remission – a joint effort

Scientific Session 4: Novel monitoring tools

Scientific Session 5: Sustainable technology and consequences: ESGE-ECCO collaborative session on endoscopy

As usual, the Educational Programme starts prior to the official start of the ECCO Congress. As in past years, a wide range of courses and workshops will be offered, spanning basic science to small bowel ultrasound and other radiological imaging, challenges in endoscopy, nutrition, surgery, histology, multidisciplinary management in IBD and the strategic roles of nurses in IBD. In addition, the programme will once again include the Intensive Course for Trainees, the Postgraduate Course in IBD and the S-ECCO Masterclass.

Please note that some courses and workshops may run concurrently and that these educational activities have a limited registration capacity; therefore, we encourage you to register at your earliest convenience.
